Certified Chiropractic Care for your Animals and Pets
As a pet owner, I know that the health and well-being of an animal is essential. Book a phone consultation and we will determine if chiropractic care can help improve and maintain the quality of life of your animal.
How does animal chiropractic help your animal?
Animal chiropractic is a form of care that can help with specific injuries and conditions, enhance performance, and be used as a preventative care option to help keep your animal moving and feeling its best. As a VCLC certified animal chiropractor, I will assess your animal on the first visit and create a tailored care plan that best suits the needs of your animal. Owners will also be educated on key exercises to perform between care to help ensure your animal responds its best at each visit.

About Dr. Jess
Hi there! My name is Dr. Jessica Longhi, but feel free to refer to me as Dr. Jess or Dr. Jessica.
I have completed both a Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Science at Trent University. Upon completion of my Masters degree I left for Seneca Falls New York to attend New York Chiropractic College. Here I completed a Doctorate of Chiropractic. My time in Seneca Falls was transformational, and I kept my love of working with animals alive by volunteering at local stables and shelters.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends, and especially my horse named Pete, an off-the-track Standardbred. During my academic career I began to foster my love for animals and I was brought into to the horse world. I started volunteering my time at a local horse rescue, which is where I was introduced to Pete and I became his forever person.
Horse Chiropractic Care
On my journey to becoming a chiropractor I fell in love with treating horses.
Active equine chiropractic care can take place on your property or where your horse is boarded. Scroll below for a list of potential reasons to seek out chiropractic care for your horse.

Frequently asked questions
No you do not. In Ontario, chiropractors who have completed an accredited animal chiropractic program are considered direct portals of entry. However, animal chiropractic does not replace veterinarian medicine and we encourage a collaborative approach whenever possible.
Age is not a limitation when determining whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your animal.
I encourage owners to bring their pets to the clinic. It is a great way to get your animal used to different environments. The clinic will be equipped with many treats and toys to help them feel at ease.
Exceptions are to be made for geriatric immobile animals, pregnant animals, more than 3 dogs and/or cats to be treated, and small animals at barns/stables where large animals will be treated. A $20 travel fee is applied to all mobile calls, regardless of distance.
Yes. When two or more animals are treated in a single visit, a $3 discount is applied to each small animal, and a $5 discount is applied to each large animal.
All animal owners are welcome to see me for their own care at www.countychiropractic.com in Wellington or Picton, where I treat all of my wonderful human clients.
Appointment details are available under “Services”. An initial appointment for small animals is approximately 30 minutes and a follow-up is 15 minutes. An initial appointment for large animals is approximately 1 hour, and a follow-up is 30-45 minutes.
Any domesticated household mammal with a spine! Typically, dogs, cats, rabbits, and even guinea pigs! Certain livestock animals will also be considered “small”, such as pigs, sheep and goats. Unless house-trained, small livestock animals will require a mobile visit.
Typically, horses and cows.

Chiropractic care is an excellent form of alternative healthcare for your equine companion. Chiropractic can help with a number of musculoskeletal conditions that impact mobility, performance, range of motion, muscle conditioning, and overall quality of life.
Animal chiropractic does not replace veterinary medicine, however, it can be a great form of complementary healthcare. It is recommended you consult your veterinarian first, specifically if an injury is sustained.
Prior to starting chiropractic care, you will receive an intake form to fill out regarding your horse’s problems and/or conditions. The intake form ties in with the initial assessment, which is a thorough examination and analysis of your horse.
Here are some reasons why care can help:
- Health and wellness, also known as maintenance
- Reduced mobility with age
- Arthritic conditions
- The key to a high quality of life is to maintain mobility
- Reduced mobility due to injury compensations
- Muscle tenderness and tightness
- Can be viewed as muscle asymmetry, spinal roaching, reduced top line musculature
- Reduced performance
- Problems with picking up the correct lead and/or switching leads
- Inability to laterally bend equally on both sides
- Dragging toes, short striding and/or stepping
- Poor or lack of engagement of hind end
- Refusing the bit
